    The Lansing Region is home to nearly 500,000 residents and attracts over five million visitors each year.

    Lansing was chosen as Michigan's Capital City because of its central location. Its beautiful capital was built in 1879 and restored between 1989 and 1992, and makes it a must see destination for visitors. The downtown area has seen many renovations and changes over the past few years. You will find the brick paved road and coach lights of yesterday ad charm to Washington Avenue. The Stadium district brings baseball fans of all ages out to see the Lansing Lugnuts play minor league baseball in one of the leagues nicest stadiums.

    Downtown Lansing also has a beautiful River Walk that stretches for miles around Lansing. You can walk, bike, or roller blade your way along the wooden path that follows the Red Cedar River. One attraction along your route will be the Potter Park Zoo. The Park offers a scenic landscape next to the Red Cedar River, where you and your family can have a picnic, take a walk with your pet dog, and enjoy the animals in the zoo.

    Lansing is also known as the Car Capital of North America and is the birthplace of Oldsmobile founded in 1897. Today, more cars are produced in Lansing (over 400,000 each year) than any other city on the continent.

    The Lansing tri-county (Ingham, Eaton, & Clinton County) area is approximately 1,700 square miles. The estimated Median Household Income is $48,500.
